Normally an alliance stands on mutual trust and understanding of the ally. There may be some long term or short term common agenda or programme to attain a goal. But the term ‘prestigious alliance’ or ‘alliance with practise’ was unheard in politics so far. Unfortunately, ‘prestige’ is not a commodity. One has to acquire this with his work or behaviour. On the contrary, repeated hankering for reciprocate prestige from TMC ridicules prestige of the leadership of PCC (W.B).

It can’t be denied that at present political scenario of W.B, TMC has proved to be real threat to left-front government in elections. Active support of left front in the 1st. UPA Government made congress irrelevant as an opposition. Whole opposition ideology has gathered together under the leadership of TMC with a common interest to end the regime of left-front government and to see Smt. Mamata Banerjee as CM. In this situation Congress will be no where if they not stand as ally of TMC. Moreover, to perpetuate its revenge, congress high command won’t hesitate to join hands with TMC to thrash CPI (M). At the same time, as the second largest ally of UPA, congress never makes Smt. Banerjee annoyed to de-stable the UPA government.

The PCC leadership should ask them; so far the high command has paid any respect to their views from the ground reality! Have they thought about future of the party when majority of their rank and file joined at TMC? Visibly TMC is fighting against CPI (M) but their immediate foe is congress. As long as congress is viable in the state, TMC could not establish its doctrine. As a matter of fact, congress high command is eager to secure its position at centre, at the cost of so-called prestige of regional leadership. Their thirst for ‘prestige’ will vanish in to the blue consequent to the seat adjustment with TMC by the high command.

After all speculations, final verdict will come from the people of W.B. Although TMC is adamant to perish CPI (M) from W.B, the attempt will be in vain in spite of its defeat in election. The victory of TMC won’t be a boon for congress as they will be at the mercy of the suprimo. In case of defeat, within no time, they will be kicked back as a traitor. Both the cases the broken heart supporters and organisers will find out their shelter in TMC. Hence, the forthcoming assembly election in W.B. is an acid test for left front as well as
<span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family: "Bookman Old Style"; font-size: 12pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: EN-US;">CPI (M). And is a battle of existence with ‘prestige’ for 125 years old congress in <place w:st="on">West Bengal</place>.
DEBASISH DUTTA GUPTAhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01563538096133174398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4298010252996302761.post-49759718744509213242011-01-26T07:13:00.000-08:002011-01-26T07:13:22.975-08:00BLACK MONEY & LEGALITIES

Two HEADLINE NEWS:

SC pulls up Govt. on black money issue – by Dhananjay Mahapatra, TNN, Jan 19, 2011,

The CWG scam temporarily evaded with the shield of Suresh Kalmadi. Maharastra C.M. had to resign from his post In Adarsha Housing Society scam to give a breath to his party. But 2G Spectrum scam have made a jolt. The matter was not settled by the resignation of the minister of ally DMK. Opposition parties not gave up the demand of JPC yet. The flaw in the economic policy made the price escalation of onion and other eatables. It is quite sure, the comment of SC on discloser the facts of foreign bank account is another punch for UPA.

The term ‘black money’ is familiar to us. It generates from illegal practices to evade tax. So it can be inferred that the beneficiaries of those scams, as referred above, are the recipients of ‘black money’ which has kept in their Swiss and German bank accounts in secret names. It is a matter of prestige for the reach Indians to operate secret bank accounts in Swiss banks followed by corrupt bureaucrats and politicians. As per a recent report, approximately $1,456 BILLION is posses by Indians. But the government had no urge to enact any law to recover the money from foreign secret bank account. It is true that due to international pressure, the Swiss government agreed to disclose the names of the account holders only if the respective governments formally asked for it. But the Indian government is not asking for the details, on the contrary expressing its inability for ‘Legalities’.

We are not on the niceties of various treaties," remarked a bench comprising justices B Sudershan Reddy and S <place w:st="on">S Nijjar</place>. Do we believe that statement of Mr. Mukherjee is more convincing to the country men, except his party followers, than the findings of SC? AT present he is the only face to defend all scandals of government. Has he enough confidence to say that none of his party hierarchy or ministers and partners of the UPA, except Dr. Manmohan Singh, has no account in Swiss or German banks under scan?

The trade union movements forced the industrialist to shift their industry out of <place w:st="on">Bengal</place>. It is true to say that ideology of class struggle of left politics marked the industrialist anti- labor. At the same time, the capitalists were also scared, as they were friendly to Congress. The work of land-reform made left front popular among rural land-less population who had no right on the land during Congress rule. At the same time, made sections of people foe, whose land was taken for ‘barga’.

The central – state relationship was not congenial for getting central sanctions. It was not easy for the W.B. Govt. to get sanctions for the projects of Haldia and Bakreshwar. In spite of any vital industrial investment in the state, left-front government came into power for the 7th. time with an absolute majority. As per their election manifestation the left government focused on industrialization to generate employment. By this time, the left leadership realized ‘Capital’ has no cast and without its investment into industry, there is no scope to generate employment. But all the parties in left- front were not ready to accept the process of industrialization; even the party members of CPIM were not well equipped for pursuing people where land was acquired for factories. Knowing fully well that Bengali as a whole are sentimental to land and comfortable in their present status, the opposition took no time to capitalize the sentiment against CPIM and succeeded. After a long period, a boon in industrializations was anticipated. Increasing market in rural <place w:st="on">Bengal</place>, cheap and quality labor, and liberalized approach of the left government made Industrialist eager to invest in this state. But the possibility comes to an end with a motto to irradiate CPIM from <place w:st="on">Bengal</place> because, in spite of its vices, successful implementation of ‘industrialization policy’, could keep the ruling party for another 30 years to rule.

The peculiar characteristics of Bengalis is that they feel proud to condemn themselves, happy to criticize others and last of all put blame on to the authority, as the case may be, by ignoring his responsibility. It is not the failure or success of any particular government in terms of development, unless the people really want so. When the spot light of industrial investment is on Gujrat, the critics of this state happy to see it as the failure of Left government but don’t see the motivation of Gujraties as a whole on the issue of development of their state. It is a curse of <place w:st="on">Bengal</place> that Left government of W.B took two decades to resolve its stand, after fall of Soviet, over capitalism. The effort should be started earlier. Still there is a little hope; the market will force the investors to come forward if present political turmoil comes to an end. DEBASISH DUTTA GUPTAhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01563538096133174398noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4298010252996302761.post-33966452622148725432011-01-13T01:56:00.000-08:002011-01-13T01:56:18.113-08:00BENGAL POLITICS
Rise of Smt. Mamata Banerjee was at the cost of Congress. As a result of inner politics a section in congress proposed her as the president of Pradesh Congress Committee. As refused by the high command they formed TMC under the leadership of Smt. Banerjee. Actually, she wanted her supremacy in the party beyond the power of high command. Her clean image in comparison to contemporary leadership made her popular among congress-men.

During the tenure of left front, the colonial attitude and lifestyle of some of the leaders and workers of the left parties made the common men away from them. The apathy and grievances against CPI(M) made some section of people inclined towards Smt. Mamata Banerjee. Her simple life style and fighting attitude against CPI(M), who sometimes claimed to be real communist, made her popular within a short time. Allergy in red colour made her a branded rival of CPI(M). To show her hatred in red, she never touches liker tea. On the contrary to gain more popularity she took up the slogans of the left and intensified her land based politics which was the main weapon of CPI(M) for its popularity. But her restless attitude and unstable political alliance with the national parties barred her to come in power of W.B.

In the present political scenario the Congress has no other option but to stick with Mamata, knowing fully well that, they will be thrown away in the dustbin, if the desired victory is attend by her. On the contrary, if she could not win the election, they will be stamped as a betrayer. Past experience of BJP and other alliances in the episode of Nandigram and Singur indicate same fate for Congress. At present she needs the help of Sri Pranab Mukherjee and Planning Commission for showcasing her various railway projects for drawing popular votes in her favour. There is every possibility to relinquish her office after attaining the post of CM, as she desires, to show that her party is not hankering for power. Actually, it will be difficult for her to fulfill commitments made when industrial growth rate shows negative trained and public investors not shown their interest to invest in her projects. Eventually, it will be easier for her to blame the central government for their incompetence.
<span style="font-family: "Bookman Old Style"; font-size: 12pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: EN-US;">The result of forthcoming assembly election is crucial for not only W.B. but also for the Congress. The death of that student and fatal injury of eye of another student in connection with college election was condemned by cross section of people and media. Even the Governor of W.B. expressed his concern over the incident. But it is controversial whether it was necessary to organise such a rally.

The think tank of the main opposition party took this opportunity for increasing their vote bank as their belief. Now-a-days ‘dead body’ is too cheap in W.B. If the renowned economists could calculate the cost of a ‘dead body’ and recommend for inclusion in the price index, the inflation may be checked. So, with the helm of a Central Minister easily a ‘dead body’ was captured from Purulia Dist. and displayed on the streets of Kolkata just after the first rally. The ‘CALCATIANS’ saw the dead-body of a poor ‘adivasi’ , the picture of those they viewed in the news papers and T.V. The satisfied moderators of the rally must have counted the number of votes increased from the rally and went to their business. The body of the poor fellow left behind half a way to his village for decomposition as that was not worth full for any gain. Ironically last of all we came to know that the poor fellow was not even any connection with the party who covered his faces rather identity with their party flag. Luck of the second ‘dead-body’ was better than the first as he could not be captured by that party as strongly resisted by his family members and villagers. But in the third attempt they could manage three dead-bodies at a time claimed to be their party men. After the successful rally they will be happy as the number of votes will be thrice than the first. But alas, this time also, their small ally in W.B. and big brother in the Central claims for two bodies of their own. Incidentally, the fact of those ‘dead-bodies’ will be same as the first one. However, after all, the ‘CALCATIANS’ will be grateful to them for the great show of cruelty, utilising a ‘dead-man’ for political gain.
<span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family: "Bookman Old Style"; font-size: 12pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: EN-US;">The intellects behind the political ideology of the main opposition party should know that this is not the way to influence the people of <place w:st="on">Bengal</place>. Where is their political agenda to fight against price hike and colossal theft of public money by some of their colleges in power? The dearth of political ideology comes into light when they organise proto type programme of the ruling party and even by chasing the venue. Their every day activity is taking into account. Apart from their followers, intellectuals, media persons and foreign emissaries, there are a decisive number of voters who are not ally of the ruling party and helped them to gain in the last elections. They wanted to give a lesion to the ruling party by defeating them. This time they may be cautious before casting their vote. DEBASISH DUTTA GUPTAhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01563538096133174398noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4298010252996302761.post-37770849923958557632011-01-05T04:22:00.000-08:002011-01-05T20:44:58.274-08:00TWO SLOGANS - APPARENTLY HYPOTHETICAL
MA- MATI- MANUS (i.e.- MOTHER-LAND-MAN) Title of a popular play.

(Slogan of TMC)

KRISHI-SHILPA-MANUS (i.e.- AGRICULTURE-INDUSTRY-MAN)

Recent slogan of CPI-M.

Although hypothetical, these two slogans are to be the main focal point of the forthcoming election in W.B.

If we derive the two slogans, we can see two words ‘MA’ & ’MANUS’ which are animate rest of all are inanimate. Interestingly the presence of the common word ‘MANUS’ in both slogans. The word ‘MA’ in the first slogan pretends to draw some physiological attachment to stimulate the vote bank.

Now, easily we can formulate a new slogan:- MATI-KRISHI-SHILPA & MANUS

i.e.(LAND-AGRICULTURE-INDUSTRY & MAN). In this way there is no controversy in two different political ideologies fighting loggerhead. Both of them are committed for the cause of man (people of W.B) and to win the election for executing their ideology. It is admitted that the TMC has benefited in the past elections by chanting their slogan. But the efficacy of the slogans ends to land. In continuation, the second slogan includes agriculture & industry. Thus the impulse should be proper use of land for both the purposes of agriculture & industry for better livelihood of MANUS (MAN).

Both agriculture and industry is based on land. It is not prudent to say that in any case fertile land could not be used for basic & large industry. If that was the view, no large industry could be established in the fertile <place w:st="on"><placetype w:st="on">land</placetype> of <placename w:st="on">Burdwan</placename></place> at the era of Dr. B.C.Roy. On the contrary man is being used as ‘pawn’ to secure the ‘land of power’ by nourishing the sentiment of land which is synonymous to ‘MOTHER’ of a peasant. Impact of ‘total intolerance’ makes an adverse effect on the society. Ruthless eagerness of grabbing power is patronising criminal forces under the mask of so-called political ideology and at the same time work together on contractual agreement. Where is the human face of the slogan? Every day man is being killed, even mother is not spared. Every effort is being made to stop the work of development –though it is scanty in nature. Land is acquiring for industries and railway to make the ‘man’ landless and at the same time stopping the project and vanishing the prospect of creating jobs into blue. Unfortunately, all the parties of different ideology, pretend to work for ‘man’, believe such slogan will pave there way towards the door of power.
DEBASISH DUTTA GUPTAhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01563538096133174398noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4298010252996302761.post-91224736732803457812011-01-04T04:09:00.000-08:002011-01-04T04:09:16.182-08:00SINGUR - A BIG ?
It is a big question at present whether any industrial house will dare to invest in W.B. in the present scenario of political turmoil. Inflation touched to 14.44%, the highest ever in last 10 weeks. Which will be much higher as the rise of diesel and LPG price is knocking at the door. Subsidy on fertilizer minimised and freight charge on the same has increased. Deceitful propaganda to control price rise making us bewildered with a hope that <place w:st="on"><country-region w:st="on">India</country-region></place> is going to be a superpower. Media is highlighting the news of visit of foreign leaders, speculating to attain permanent membership in UN. On the contrary the Supreme Court slammed the government for rotting of million tons of food grains for lack of proper public distribution system. He also made it clear that this ‘bahini/vahini’ is consists of the members and followers of a recognised national political party of <place w:st="on"><country-region w:st="on">India</country-region></place>, CPI(M). So, logically the elected Chief Minister of W.B. is also a ‘HARMAD’ as he politically belongs to CPI(M). As of now, ‘the buck stops at his chair’. Let him proof when such ‘Vahini’ was formed, the office-bearers and their agenda. Whether it is a frontal organisation of CPI(M) or the members of the CPI(M) politburo have dual membership. Why for a long time the Central Forces are operating under the guidance of that Vahini and protecting them from a ‘cluster’ who seems to be a major threat for rest of the country but an ally of his party. Lastly, as a Home Minister of India, not as an ally of the so called ‘cluster’, he should know that he has no right to rename a political party, recognised by the Election Commission. Dr. Manmohan Singh, a renowned economist. At last he has to intervene to check rising price of onion as his cabinet college shaded his responsibility by a mere statement that the price of onion would be under control only after 2/3 weeks & the Govt. has no policy to import the same. How the Govt. slashed the export price of onion in November'10, knowing fully well that the production of onion will be hampered to some extent due to rain! Shall the Govt. explain why the country will loose the revenue by withdrawing customs duty on onion for their wrong policy? Then it cab be argued that the Govt. can easily reduce the custom duty on Crude Oil to minimise the price of Petroleum. It is deemed that the Govt. has no compulsion to give relief to "Aam-Admi" rather to shout as a political slogan. Now it is clear to say that P.M. has no control over his colleges of alliance and even his party as only after some scam or cissies he comes to the surface to control the damageDEBASISH DUTTA GUPTAhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01563538096133174398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4298010252996302761.post-66780222143212392252010-10-19T00:30:00.000-07:002010-10-19T00:30:27.706-07:00PUJA 2010DEBASISH DUTTA GUPTAhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01563538096133174398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4298010252996302761.post-31627760329359851222010-09-23T03:53:00.000-07:002010-09-23T03:53:01.556-07:00SECULAR INDIA - A DILEMMA
"PREAMBLE' CONSTITUTION OF INDIA - " THE PEOPLE OF INDIA having solemnly resolved to constitute Indiato a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC ........... do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION."

FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS UNDER THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA:-

RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF RELIGION

"Every person in India shall have the freedom of conscience and shall have the right to Profess, practice and propagate religion, subject to public order."

So, religious manifestation is one of the fundamental rights to every Indians.

In the eye of the constitution of India, the state does not discriminate the people representatives (MP/MLA) with a common people (Aam Admi). But before assuming office, they take oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and law of INDIA (Secular). At the time they have every right to "Profess, practice and propagate religion' and perform their own religious rituals according to their belief if desired as a political personality., But it a common phenomena that most of our MP,MLA and ministers (who has takenoath of office in the name of Constitution) visit religious places, seek blessings of religious gurus and attend religious programme. Are they not violating the constitutional oath? It is a real fix to me.

The dilemma is India is a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC but the major people representatives don't bother to exhibit their religious mockery for grabbing votes of different religious community.

To day I received a SMS from a 10 years girl - "Who ar, Hindu or Muslim? When there is 'Ali' in DiwALI & 'Ram" in RAMzan. Help INDIA is being UNITED."

Once 'metro' was the proud of Kolkata. Now, travel by 'metro' is a horrible experience. Most of the entry/exit gates are in-operative, trains are running behind schedule as well as poor maintenance of coaches and tracks are the common featurers of 'metro'.
Extensiuon of metro routes in and arround Kolkata is quite justified. But at the same time public openion must be build up for better service of the existing metro route. Otherwise, commuters of metro railway may be the victim of massive digester.DEBASISH DUTTA GUPTAhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01563538096133174398noreply@blogger.com2
